HDR in action in CS:S

Unsure if this has been posted before or not (doubt it considering the general census on what people think HDR is) but you can see HDR in action in the first game meca video.

The first time you see it is at exactly 1:30 when the CT is staring down the hallway in dust2. The room gets brighter as he goes into it. Then again at 2:07 as he leaves the building you can see it is really bright outside, then gets darker as he walks out.

True HDR is the faking of your eyes adjusting to the light/dark like you see in the video.

Feel free to delete/lock me if it's already been posted.
 
It's actually the camera adjusting to the screen brightness levels.

Yeah just noticed that (me is dumb) ... well in any case that's what HDR should be like = O It actually works the same way HDR would.
 
umm...
i thought HDR (High Dynamic Range rendering) was to render far-away objects faster than close up ones to increase draw distance and maintain performance.. also, this should be in the CS section
