help building the source

Hi guys, this may be a bit unrelated to this forum, but I couldn't find any info anywhere else really.

I'm trying to modify the source code to the original Half-Life. I'm using Microsoft Visual C++ Express, and when i try and build, im getting over 500 errors. Does it have something to do with the fact the Express requires me to convert the project to the updated version?? Any help would be appreciated.

eh isnt the source code locked against such modifications?
you can only modify the code released in the sdk

right, thats what i mean. I'm working with the SDK from the orginal half-life.

Original SDK compiles under Visual C++ 6.0. Using any other compiler will produce errors that you'll have to fix by hand. Or something.
