Help i am stuck:How do i fix elevator ?

i am trying to get passed the part of the game where
i have to fix the elevator(early in game)

does it have something to do with unblocking the giant fan and letting it spin? if so how do i get back up ?

Unblock the fan and crouch so it doesn't push you off. Eventually there'll be an explosion, taking out one of its blades; you should be able to punt it around so the gap is at the bottom, then crouch-walk through.

If you're at the part where I think you are(when you're first seperated from your Vort partner), then you have to unblock it, wait for it to stop spinning(while walking towards it so you don't fall off), then look for a gap where two blades are missing. If the gap isn't on the same level as you, then just spin the fan with the gravity gun until it is.
