HL2 6800 artifacts

I got a 6800 and it runs doom3 on ultra settings just fine. but when i play half life 2 i get crazy artifacts....i cant even see other people or monsters. its really disappointing... i have the newest drivers from my card. I am playing the half life 2 demo... will the artifacts go away if i buy the full game.

lol i dont know jack but i think ur demoversion is ****ed. those things dont happen in the full version , not even with my old gforce4 lol

Have you tried reverting to older drivers?

I got 6800 GT ultra and it runs fine. Matter of fact I finished game twice in ultra setting without a glitch.
So problem could be coming from other sources?

What I saw looked like and overheated GPU/CPU did you over-clock anything? If not and what your playing on is a demo maybe demo file is little corrupted try uninstalling it removing HL2 demo folder reboot system and download again hopefully that will help.

Yes. Doom 3 asks for a lot of blackness rendering

Is it possible to validate the demo? like you could with the full version. How did you get the demo, through steam?
