HL2 Achievement Suggestions

So I've been thinking of playing through HL2 again, and trying to reach specific goals, like the achievements in Episode Two. It's a shame there aren't any on the PC version of HL2 but I think it'd be worth trying certain things even if they aren't official achievements. I know there are various ones for the Xbox version, so I'm going to try those, but what other things would be good to work towards? Any ideas? Naturally the community knows almost everything about the game so surely there'd be some interesting suggestions.
 
BOOOM HEADSHOT

Kill an enemy gunship with a propelled grenade from your gravity gun.



Anti-Antlion Bar

Cause the antlion guard in nova prospect to slam his/her head on one of the beams, while simultaneously killing it.



Zero Point Zombeh Monipulater

Kill 100 zombies with thrown objects from your gravity gun.



Team Effort

Keep your rebel allies alive from the start of "Follow Freeman" to the door that goes out into the "Suppesor Feild" (the place that the suppresor keeps shooting at you, and you run from building to building)



Black Mesa Maelstrom

Kill all the enemies on Nova Prospect with your crowbar (excluding the antlion guard, the turrets and the gunships).



Manhacking Hacker

Kill a manhack with another manhack and killing 10 combine with a manhack.




Minion vs Minion

Let your allied rebels kill 50 of your enemies (can be any sort of combine).




Stormtrooper Effect

Go through "Follow Freeman" an let all your rebel allies die (excluding the rebels that join you at the stairs up to the roof)




Bloody Beach Madness

Order your antlions to kill every combine at the start of "Nova Prospect" to the were you first enter the building itself (excluding the gunships).
 
I think he means picking up a regular grenade and throwing at the drop ship, deathmatch style. The only problem is that there is not enough grenades.
 
Sure you can, noclip and godmode and crowbar the hell out of that dropship.... oh wait you can't get achievements when you cheat, oh well.
 
Hmm... off the top of my head... (i haven't checked them over recently, but i don't remember seeing these achievments)

Hunter Roadkill
Kill all Hunters at the end of Episode 2 (during the final battle protecting the silo) by ramming them. (Episode 2)

Don't Touch The Car
Don't let any Rollermines attach to your buggy (Half-Life 2)

I also had the idea for this one, but quickly realised it was impossible since hunters will shoot the magnusson devices off, which also means that the fletches wouldn't cause the Striders to explode.
Betrayal
Use a Hunter's fletches to destroy a Magnusson device on a Strider. (Episode 2)
 
Grab X number of grenades before if touches the ground and avoid explosion damage to you.

Shoot off X number of grenades with shotgun and avoid explosion damage to you.

Kill X number of enemies (combine, overwatch) with SINGLE manhack. (I think this would be extremely hard at best or impossible), as manhack itself is usually destroyed when tossing at enemy).

Kill X number of moving targets with crossbow.

Not as difficult as you might think, in fact i find it the easiest. You know you can pick up a manhack and hack up enemies. Just pick it up with the gravity gun, and charge at a combine soldier and the blades will shred him to death with no damage to the manhack.

oh, you re mentioning not to toss but keep holding it by the g-gun? yeah i tried that , but idea of running toward combine didn't work well when playing on hardest level. :farmer:
 
Shit Can IT!!

Dont use your car when going on the beach (i know that sounds hard but you would probably get a big award for doing it or something).
 
With inspiration from COD4:

Seek Wisdom
Talk to every Vortigaunt accessible to the player.

Beach Ball
Throw Dog's ball into the ocean.

Roadkill
Kill 50 Antlions by driving over them.

Slam Dunk
Shoot Dog's ball through the basketball hoop

Chain reaction
Kill an enemy with an exploding barrel that was set off by another explosion.

It's called an Air-Boat
Spend a total of 20 seconds in the air, while driving the airboat (cumulative).

We Deliver
Kill 4 combine soldiers at once by dropping a single shipping container on them.

Life Imitates Art
Take a screenshot of five Zombies covered in paint.

Voodoo
Kill a combine soldier with a bust of Breen's head.

Saw
Kill 2 Zombies at once with circular saw blades.

Saw II
Kill 3 Zombies at once with circular saw blades.

Saw III
Kill 4 Zombies at once with circular saw blades.

Saw IV
Kill 5 Zombies at once with circular saw blades.

Jigsaw
Kill a non-Zombie with a circular saw blade.

And one for Episode 2:

Shoop da Woop!
Kill a strider while it's charging it's laser.

I could come up with so many more, but that's all we have time for. See you next week folks!
 
Assuming that this is possible: Give a watermelon to Lamarr. I don't know for sure if it is possible, but I hope it is. There is a watermelon in Anticitizen One. Maybe in Point Insertion as well. I should check it at some point.

Already an achievement, called Two Points.

We Deliver

Also an achievement except there is only 3 combine (Unless you leave them all alive in which case dropping it on four at a time is impossible) and it doesn't need to be done all at once called OSHA Violation.

Oh ok, I've no idea what the X-box achievements are. Have to wrack my brain some more, so here's some to make up for those ones.

Can't touch this
Avoid being hit by any rockets while driving the Airboat.

Photographs Beyond This Point Prohibited
Destroy ten Scanners before they take your photo.

Rear View (Episode 2)
Kill an enemy by reversing over them in the Dodger.

Dodge This (Episode 2)
Hit an enemy while driving the Dodger, while their back is turned.

And just a stupid one:

Zombie Chow
Be killed by a zombie torso. XD
 
That's why it's a stupid one. Maybe make it a "secret" one - has anyone actually died from one of those, not on purpose?

Up, up .... and awa... no wait - BOOM !!!

Kill 3 or more Nova Prospekt guards, on one of the watch towers, with a granade...
 
Teamkiller!
Kill an ally rebel in 'Anticitizen One' with a hopper mine. (i actually discovered this was possible on accident, if you shoot it upwards and gravity causes it to come back down and land on an ally, they die)
 
^^ its also possible to kill them using an enemy turret :) just take the GG and hold the turret in front of you... and - you know what will happen :)
 
Achievements for all the HL2s games are already sorted but what the heck :P

Every Free-Man for himself - Complete Half Life 2 only ever using the Squad Commands once.
Old Traditions - Complete the Ravenholm chapter only using the Crowbar to kill enemys
Shut the **** up! - Rip off all the Computer screens showing Breen's face in the citadel.
You must be the pride of *Subject hometown here* - Gain 100% Completion of Portal
On the road again... - Drive in the Muscle Car for a total of 5 hours in Episode 2.
Spoilers - Playthrough Episode 2 fully for a second time
Interesting... - Complete Episode 1, Episode 2 and Portal fully on Commentary Mode.
Hard enough for ya!? Complete Half Life 2 on Hard difficulty
KA-POW! - Kill 100 enemies just using the gravity gun in Half Life 2
Survival Expert - Complete the Strider Finale battle of Episode 2 without dieing on Normal or Hard difficulty
<3 Half Life - Complete Half Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2 and Portal on any difficulty
Ohi! - Find the gman on every occasion during Half Life 2 (The Gman must walk away everytime to activate this achievement)
Little Rocket Brain - Launch both the Garden Gnome and the Strider Brain into space at the same time
You owe me a beer! - Meet up with Barney all possible times in Half Life 2 and Episode 1.
Cargo Check - During Half Life 2, destroy 3 Dropship containers with the RPG before they land and release Soldiers
Re-armament - Kill a total of 500 Combine units in Half Life 2
Just hurry, he's right behind me! - Destroy the Dark Fusion reactor before the Overwatch Countdown reaches 45 seconds.
Dedicated - Complete Episode 1 on any difficulty in one sitting
Even more dedicated - Complete Episode 2 on any difficulty in one sitting
Hourglass - Play a total of 40 hours of Half Life 2, including Episode 1, Episode 2 and Portal
Sharp spikes - Break Dr.Kleiner's Mini-teleporter in his lab with his small cactus
Strider be gone - Kill a total of 30 Striders throughout Half Life 2, Episode 1 and Episode 2
Ultimatum - Complete the Episode 2 Finale Strider fight without dieing, letting any buildings or the rocket be destroyed
What are you doing? - Escape the Aperture Science Enrichment Centre and Complete Portal
Time? Dr.Freeman? - Destroy the Dark Fusion reactor and Complete Half Life 2
See ya when I see ya! - Escape on the train and Complete Episode 1
The Portal has been neutralised! - Help launch the rocket and Complete Episode 2
