i dunno man, HL2 is not working for alot of people, i just say uninstall it, and dont even bother with it ne more, untill they fix the problem which is on THEIR end.....i have the same BIOS as you lol... ne ways, u seem to have a corrupted DirectX file or sumthin, uninstall DirectX, then reinstall directX to its current updates

"The file d3d9d.dll is a debug version, which will run slower than the retail version."

^ seems to be an error, i had that before, and i did what i just told u, and everything worked fine afterwards (but not with Half Life 2....cause like i said before....its sierra...even Swat 4 had problems...its odd dont u think?....how now that i think about it, the only games that ever gave me an error was Swat 4 and Half Life 2.....made by SIERRA.

They simply published it, they never made it, the problem on "their" end is with VALVe.

ok i'll try to uninstall directx because when i go to option there is video - advanced and :
hardware version : Directx 8.0
software version : Directx 9.0
but when i run -> dxdiag there is directx 9.0c

I dont know how but now when i run - > dxdiag it says :

Sound Tab 1: No problems found.

but i think i didn't reinstalled anything!

What videocard do you have? (For a tutorial, click this link and scroll down to the graphic driver info: Link)

I think Geforce FX 5200 - Graphic card memory -> 512mb
and i think it crashes when starts a movie about hl2 , i loaded many maps and in places where i think will start movie it crashes with that error

haha i got the same video card as you hahah...ne ways...search for a DirectX Buster(on google)...and uninstall DirectX..then install DirectX to its current update...which is April 2006's updates or sumthin, and be carefull cause last time i did this...i could not restart my computer...all i got was a blue error screen and it wouldnt let me install directX to its current updates....which eventually forced me into reinstallin windows
