Hl2 Multiplayer???

Ok I am a HL2 novice. But is HL@ a multiplayer game also? I haven’t seen (or explored) where it can be played online. Any tips?

There are two multiplayer platforms for HL2.
There is Counter-Strike: Source that ships with the game and then there is Half-Life 2: Deathmatch that is downloadable over Steam.

To me, it sounds like you are interested in HL2: DM. Learn more about it here and here.

I used to play HL1DM a lot more than I play HL2DM now. Don't know why. Guess I'm just waiting for some good maps to come out. :/

I don't remember Half Life 2 DM coming with the game, I personally remember having to download it.

That's because they released HL2DM after HL2 was avaible. Open up steam and click Half-life 2: Deathmatch.

Personally i cant stand CSS, and prefer DM anyday. and hello Yombi! long time no see, ive been looking through HL2 to see if VALVe put any easter eggs of you in it im sure theres one somewhere.

Thanks for the info. I just bought my HL2 on Sunday and have been wrapped up in playing it that I haven’t explored any of the options. Maybe when I am done, or get tired of a chapter I will give CS a try. Is DM free on steam?
