HL2 on my old computer

Ok, im such a big hl freak that I had to install it at work when the DM came out. I am running on a 32mb geforce2 GTS\pro with 512 ram and a p4 1500 and with the video turned down the game runs REALLY SMOOTH! The graphics look pretty darn good for a 32mb video card as well. I am truely impressed how good hl2 runs on my system here at work! At home I have a x800 with a gig of ram and a p4 2.4 and it looks godly but at work I can play without a problem.. GOD BLESS VALVE!

LOL tried to install CS:S on my friends old P3 733 Mhz with a RivaTNT 2 Ultra...had a steady 10 fps

Doesn't HL2 make up for low end graphics cards by switching to a different way of doing things.. I'm not entirely sure of the technics so if someone wants to make me look stupid, go ahead

But yeah, you can have a low end graphics card and play the game with minimal problems, providing you have a good CPU speed and memory, which you have. I believe that was something Valve were aiming for.

my videocard is 32 mb too,my p4 is 1.8 GHz but my RAM is 248mb

but i you say the game run very smooth maybe in my PC will not run bad

lol im using a Intel 2.2, 756DDR ram and a 9800Pro and my fps on HL is completely shite

ive tried all sorts trying new cat drivers old cat drivers, going to try the omega drivers but this just seems like a problem for the 9800Pro why?

I would recommend getting 512 ram on ur machine.. just to help it deal with the engine but u should be fine RJMC! It looks so muhc better on my x800 thohehe. I spent all evening at EBX trying to sell halflife 2 to people waiting to come home and play!

I use an amd 2500+ 512 megs of ram and a geforce 6800 oc!

..okay, thats a lie. I will have a geforce 6800 oc in three weeks.
