1.Ok , so we last left gordon working for the G-Man, and has spent an unknown time away from earth. and one day he magically comes back. Evidence from videos shows that the aliens (Combine) have set up bases on earth and face no large scale resistance. This means they have already destoyed the major powers that we know today (USA). The resistnace fighter in City 17 can be compared to the humans in the Terminiator series. So the Combine, having destoyed the world, are now disregarding any surviving humans, except those who are fighting. In the "Strider" video, we can see the alien base is slowly expanding by slowly eliminating the city. Now the Combine are also harvesting whatever resources they can get their hands on. We find Gordon just retruing from an alternate demention, on a mission that must have taken some time (2-3 years). I say 2-3 years because most of teh infrastructure of City 17 seems to be in working order.

2. Combine soldeirs: They are human. Watch any video where they die, they have red blood. Some may say that they are genetically enigeerned, but maybe not. I say like the Ottoman Turks, the Combine have slave-soldeirs, and the Combine soldeirs are evidence of that. They may be brainwashed or turncoats, but they are human. EDIT: As to the noises they make, they could be speaking the alien language, in Traptown, when Gordon is near them, and they are alive, you can hear then conversing. The Turks did the samething, only in this case we see brainwashing or advanced teaching techiques. Also, in some ame tags they have, the lettering are alien looking.

Unless the combine are the major powers that we know today, fifty years down the road. :)

Still, your theory makes sense to me, at least when applied to the limited info out now. The actual game could be totally crazy.

The combine are human, infused with mechanical controle devises.

And you can clearly hear them speaking english in some parts.

Look at the Tunnels video.

The Combine Solder at the end says "Hold it There"

And the one Gordon shoots with the flame round sounds like he says "Dinomite!!"

but thats just me :)

I was pretty sure we didn't know exactly what the Combine were yet...

one Combine says "man down" in the Traptown vid.

Of course he says "man down." "Genetically engineered alien robot thingy down" just doesn't have the same ring to it. :-)

Yeah this all just "They are..." when it ought to be "I think they are..."

I don't think so. Basically, no-one knows the particulars of the plot and if they do then they are either liars or have managed to sketch it together from sound files in the leak. And if the latter is true, and they divulge any details or twists then I will track them down and tear off their arms. I can't see much confusing about that.

Confuses me as to whether they're posting spoilers or just misrepresenting their opinions as facts, is what I meant...

I know the most part, not everything... but I have respect for the people who dont want anything spoiled so I keep it for myself.

what does this say about the actual storyline?

nothing I think

Well, er, the fact that it says a load about the plot in section 1. and a load about it (eg humans are enslaved) in section 2. But they're not spoilers, just speculation. Could be right.

Spoiler-wise, I was talking about the possibility of Fender's post being one.

Oh, ya because fender posts sooo many spoilers....

And if you're soo woried about spoilers you shouldnt be in the roumors & speculation because some idioit is bound to pop up and post a spoiler in responce to a question.

I think you're on the right track, but where does the G-Man fit in? Is he trying to take control of the earth using his minions, the Combine? Or is Gordon still working for the G-Man, and the G-Man wants to stop the Combine by using Gordon, since Gordon's resume includes extensive experience in killing alien cultures?

Hey, just because there are idiots around doesn't mean that people should have to stay away from an area that was created for simple speculation and rumours... I just think that spoilers should be cracked down on harder, that's all...

The Combine are fecking cyborgs for sure as Ferg said.

The "entity" ( man or machine) controlling the bastards is probably in that godam tower, looking down to his creations.

if u can't guess, I know the mother****ing story !!!! I jsut won't reveal it here

Or on the EoJ site, I hope... been quiet there lately... hopefully some news soon...

And if you know the story from the beta, you can hardly post anything to do with it in an unbiased fashion... so I'll regard the first line of your post as a spoiler too...

I know what is the "entity", I'm so angry I can't tell anybody....

Anyways, the Combine can easily be deduced to be "bio-organic" by seeing the Gunship & the Strider ergonomics, clearly part of them (and ppl noticed this way b4 the hacked build was online) bio-organic.

Bio-organic (Assuming you mean biomechanical) is not the same as cybernetic...

let's not get into semantycal discussions here Brian. You know what I meant.... :bounce:

Well, the Striders and Gunships look biomechanical, whereas the thing being said/spoiled here was that the Combine are cyborgs...

Ahh yes the G-Man...

Well, to me he is just plain evil. In the first Hl, he had no problem killing you. Now, all the videos we see with him, he has a suit. What is more out of place in an alien infested city than that? Martha Sewart? But really, my guess is he is working for the Combine, since his famous line is " ... We've been busy in your absense Mister Freeman..". "We" might refer to the Combine, since they do seem to work quickly.
