hl2 the source

Hi, I'm new to gaming and I really need help with hl2 the source. I just evaporated that thing with the lobster claws in it and fell into the bottom of a well with some dead bodies and a toxic waste barrel in it. There are three fans in the water and I run out of air before I find a way out. Can anyone help me? Thanks!!!

I just blown the tentacle to 'kingdom come' and went down the hole from wence it came, where I found toxic barrels and a security guard with a python revolver. I run out of air in the water below because I can't find the exit.

You are going in the right direction, but try and locate a long but narrow opening at the edges of the underwater part, you should be able to swim out.

I was thinking he was on about near the start of HL2, where you have to go under water, brake some wood and let some barrels come up so you can get accross the water, obviously not.
