April 16, 2004 - Even roughly five-and-a-half years after its original release, Half-Life is still considered one of the greatest first-person shooters ever. And that's not even solely based on its impact or groundbreaking entry into the industry; the game still holds up extraordinarily well today, something that can't be said for many of its peers.

Not surprisingly, a sequel is on its way. By now, the only person who hasn't heard of and seen what Half-Life 2 is all about is a guy named Abraham who lives in Mississippi. He's also 103.

Half-Life 2 was unveiled to the public at last year's E3, causing enough of a rumble that we thought it was either an earthquake or side effects of Craig's Atkins diet. We've figured it was time to line up Half-Life 2 with its predecessor and see exactly what's been brought up to date, what's been brought along and what sort of new surprises we're in for.

This feature pits Half-Life and Half-Life 2 side-by-side in widescreen video. This gives you the opportunity to compare the classic with the upcoming sure-fire smash hit. Take a look.

So bored, I beat CZ,CS,Painkiller Demo #1 and 2 Soldner Beta crashes to much and i have a uber comp thats wasted on nothing but chatting! omg lol the irony in to intense.

I'm not sure what the point of this would be: the only relaly dramatic comparison would be if they ported a section of HL to Source and then displayed that side by side. Otherwise, we'd just be seeing two totally different scenes, one obviously way better than the other but no real advantage to seeing them side by side.
