I recently purchased HL2, but it will not load on my ThinkPad T42. I have tried the on-board CDRW/DVD drive and the external NEC 6500 DVD drive I have, but the disc just keeps spinning and will not let me access it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks for reply. I don't think it is the specs, but they are ATI 64MB 9600, 1.5GB memory and 1.8Ghz Pentium M CPU. The disc never stops spinning so I can't get access to it. I thought maybe it was the copy protection or or the disc didn't like my drives.

Happened to me the same with my DVD-RW (or +, I don't get those pluses and minuses). The disk of NFS: Underground 2 just wouldn't load. Luckily, I have two PCs; I installed on the older one, shared the contents of the game via LAN, and copied them into the new PC. I don't know if there is another workaround.

Try just registering the game on Steam with the CD Key. If you have a high speed net connection you can install the whole game off of their servers.

I think it's just the drives being picky :/ I get it quite a bit.

A quick off-topic: Sam, you aren't from the Seriously! forums, are you?
