HL2DM Help Please!!

Me and a friend are trying to have some fun together on HL2DM but, we cannot seem to make a server, it wont show upon the list!! Im assumeing its a fireware issue, and no, i cannot disbale it! its like this on every other online game i play, but i KNOW theres a way to open some kinda port somwhere and itll work, but i have no clue where to do it, or how to do it, or what port numbers to put in! can somone PLEASE help me, i really need this!! lol, thx!

What kind of FireWall do you have? Software or Hardware firewall? etc?
Open ports 27015 and 26014

im not sure white... im almost posative its hardware, and can u PLEASE tell me where to open ports and give me a more descriptive instruction on how to change the ports, id really appreciate it, thanks alot white

Do you have a router? If so, what kind?

i have a linkseys router

but i can make it a direct connection if i had to, like straight to the cable box, would that do the trick??

cool, I have a linksys as well.
alright, heres how to get into the router:
Type into your browser: 192.168.1.1 and press enter
It'll ask you for a username and password... now, if no one has changed the router's settings, you can just skip the Username (leave it blank) and type "admin" for the password.
This will bring you into the Routers settings. Click the golden "Advanced" tab to the top-right of the screen. Then click the Forwarding tab. Heres where you open up ports. First, you'll need to know the IP address of your perticular computer. To do this, just click the Windows Start button on the Taskbar, then goto Run, and type in "command". Now you have a DOS window, type in "ipconfig", this will tell you your IP address (should be something like 192.168.1.100 or 101 or 102, etc.)

Now that you know your IP address, type that into the appropriet box. For the "Service Port Range" type in 27014 and in the next box (after the ~) type in 27015.

weird... after i click fowarding, do i click UPnP fowarding or Port Triggering? or stay at that page? almost got it tho! wait i didnt know u had to go BACK to filtering i think i got it thx dude imm gonna test it now

Umm... ok, you might have a different version than mine. There should be 2 boxes next to eachother with a ~ between them, it's to the left of where you put in your IP address.

OH I CEE IT!! but it says, Private IP range and Prive Port range, no service thing

Ok... thats because your on the "Filers" tab, click the "Forwaring" tab.

no wait!!!, dude i see it for real, but it says *blank box* to *blank box* not ~ then protocol TCP then protocol UDP then my ip adres, then enable, AFTER I TYPE THEM IN, do i check the enable box? and THEN press apply?

No, your on the wrong figgen tab! Click "Forwarding" at the top.

well the 2 protocol things i mentioned have check boxes, one for TCP and one for UDP, do i check ethem?
