HL3? My evidence!

Okay, I thought the ending of the game was really weak so I came on here to see if I was the only one who thought so so then I saw some postings about a possible HL3 coming out soon. Well, then I started thinking... weren't there screenshots that I never saw in the game? Okay, so I want to know if I just somehow missed these parts when I played or if they really weren't in the game. I'm giong to number the photos and if you saw the photo, put "Yes" and if you didn't see the photo in game put "no"

My theory is that if no one saw these in the game maybe they are from a possible expansion pack and these are just little hints they're throwing at us.

Triple no. I guess the second and third pic are made to advertise the game. The content in the binks also (slightly) varies from the game, just to show what HL² has to offer I guess. I'm not sure about the blue water monster, I haven't seen it but maybe I missed something.

The third pic was a pic of the Borealis ship, which they cut from the game, the second pic was an old pic of the plaza and the first pic..well its already known that they cut the hydra.

WHat makes you think hl3 will be out soon? Itll probably be in a couple of years. If there even will be a hl3.

HL3 has been confirmed.

Plus, it would only make sense after HL2's ending.

Didnt know it was confirmed or did but forgot.. But they havnt even come up with a story for it yet have they? Its a long way off imo.

The Hydra, Blue water monster, has little to do with a HL3. They just cut it from the game because "it was zero fun to play against in first-person" They'll either put it in Blue Shift, as I heard from somewhere before, or they'll just scrap it entirely.

Apparently they want to have the Hydra in an expansion or HL3.

Okay, my theory comes further into the light. On http://www.planethalflife.com/ they posted a news accouncement about HL3.

Reports are coming through that Half-Life 3 is now in the pipe or at least an add-on to Half-Life 2. It seems that a Swedish Gaming magazine has broken its NDA and is reporting that Valve are planning for Half-Life 3 or an Expansion of Half-Life 2 based on the Source engine. This is still a rumour and is in no way official.

Speaking during a recent press briefing at Valve HQ, Newell is said to have revealed that, at this stage, the company envisage Half-Life 2 female NPC Alyx as playable in Half-Life 3, and promised more alien-based revelations.


So, my theory seems to be picking up some additional weight.

It's already been said by Valve themselves in MANY an interview that Half Life 3 is planned and written out (the main story chunks) to follow up HL2's cliffhanger.

I thought that was common knowledge.

yeah, and those screenshots are from e3 2003, when most of the game was still mostly on the paper... also from gamespot's last hours of article, it appears that most of what we saw in e3 2003 was from the proof-of-concept demos they made for gabe.

Anyway, in one of those may 2003 interviews, it was said that half life 3 was alredy written in order to have a fixed plot for half life 2.

Here's my thoughts on what's coming.

Alyx lives. The explosion at the end of HL2 is to tease you. Look at the actual fireball-- it aint gonna hit her; its just the teleporter exploding. Dog is gonna re-appear on the back of that ship he disappeared on, drop off of it and onto the top of the exploding citadel, and then race with alyx out of the tower as it collapses.

Barney's definitley gets an expansion. You'll surely be fighting as him, with the resistance fighters in tow.


HL3 will be all about Time/Space travel. The G-Man says the word 'time' a million 'times' in his final speech-- it's a total hint at whats coming. I bet we see Black Mesa again, too. Maybe Gordon even sees himself.
