Okay, so I'm in irc and someone directs me to a channel, that, supposively, at 12 midnight will be releasing the half life 2 beta that was stolen. Now, I highly doubt this. But, the channel was switched to a diff server and a video was showed that everyone in the channel watched of the hl2 beta being installed. The guy showed the cd that had it burned on and showed us him installing it.

now this could of easily be faked. well...eh..my post is pointless i guess..

just more rumours and speculation.

I'm really worried, if its not fake, valve lose control over everything they have worked for the past 5 years, everyone seems to think Valve are amazingly rich and wont even be scratched like say "microsoft" but valve are not a huge company, nearly all there money went into this game, they could have just gone home after hl1 and been comfortable for some time, but they didnt, they made this and now a bunch of stupid f***ing bas****s go and ruin it all, sure if valve does release hl2 eventully after it, a significant ammount of people will buy it, but the game will be plagued from then on with fakes hacks virii etc, and I doubt many companys will be approaching valve for the license after it,

I really hope these people have had a good long think about what there doing. because they have alot of people and familes under there thumb, (if this is real)

Hmm... VALVe's only chance to survive money wise is to release the game NOW with a RIDICULOUSLY hard to hack CD/installation/key/whatever and then people will buy it and everyone who decides not to buy it legally will have to wait MONTHS to get it.

Tonight there is rumored that at midnight a website will be releasing the full resource files to a large group of people, I know the site and I'm already looking into the people who run it and I will be posting their information if it is released, and no I will not be giving you a URL to the site >:O. Um, a website has just confirmed the beta leak but they probably are just going off of rumors and speculation as I am

im about 90% sure the beta is real from what i've seen elsewhere but believe me its not gonna be that big of a deal in the long run valve has a good community and half life 2 is gonna sale with pirated copies or without just like every other game. and as for the cheats that was coming eventually anyway and can be combated with patches and such hopefully.
