I downloaded the patch. Skipping is even worse now. Tried going into the console, but can't. I press "~" but nothing happens. I'm trying to put in this: mat_forcemanagedtextureintohardware 0.

It's quite easy . Just go into options -> keyboard -> advanced (at the bottom) and click on the 'allow console' button.

to enable console

to enable the console: from the halflife title screen you have to go into the options menu, select keyboard tab, then advanced options.... finaly check the box which says enable developer console.

start your game then "~" should bring the console on.

But now I have another problem. I was fooling around in the console and did unbindall. Now, no keys work. Please someone, tell me how to undo this. I have been trying and trying.

With some keyboard layouts the console is not reachable. I use swedish and had to bind the console to another key to get it to work.

I don't really see that much improvement.

You should set it at about 512000 and no more.
