How do I take a screenshot, and where will it be stored?

Hey everyone, I'm sure this has been asked before, but I searched the forum and didn't find what I needed to know. I just want to know how to take a simple screenshot ingame and then go find it later for editing and posting purposes.

Is there like a screenshot hotkey, and is there a screen shot subfolder that the pics would end up in? Also what format would they be in....jpeg, gif, bmp....etc etc

They end up in Game/Screenshots, where game would be replaced by the game or mod you're playing.

I think they're in JPEG, could be TGA though.

Isn't F5 the quicksave key? Anyway I've looked everywhere and C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Games\ gives me nothing but the HL2 LOGO icon.

I'm stumped. I used WinXP Search feature and searched for *.jpg and found nothing. Also searched for keywords: screenshot and screenshots, and got nothing. :rolling: :sniper:

I'm living in Holland currently but I'm from Florida originally. Could it be something different in this version of the game. I'm playing the Game of the Year edition and I think it may have been imported here into Holland from the UK.

If your pressing 'PRNT SCREEN' then it wont work.
If your press F5, then it will work.
F6 is the quicksave key.

Press f5 in the game to take a screenshot. it will got to were you installed steam go into the steam folder then steamapps\(the name of the folder will be the name of you account name)\half-life 2\hl2\screenshots

Now if you want to post your screenshots on here without the use of an attachment, I suggest you either go to Photobucket or ImageShack. I advise you to go to Photobucket because if you post pictures from ImageShack, then the picture displayed is automatically resized to 800X600 pixels, unlike Photobucket.
