How do you configure network with H2:DM

Hi,

I downloaded halflife 2 deathmatch last night and only had a few minutes to take quick look through it. I didnt notice any network configuring options to allow me to specify a LAN connection for when i hook up with friends. Is this automatically detected in some way? I plan to use a TCP/IP connection to my friends PC.

Yes, if someone starts a game, looking under the LAN tab will (Or should) show that game.

I have found that it won't always show up, although the connection I use is through my university residence so it isn't exactly a normal internet connection. However everyone on my floor is connected via LAN, however games won't show up in the tab if someone creates one so we have to manually enter in the IP address in order to connect.
