How do you spawn models from the console?

I'm trying to spawn things like \Combine_Soldier.mdl, but I don't know the command.

I'm just trying to spawn ragdolls and props. Maybe I missed it, but I only saw NPC spawning in that guide.

You didn't say that in your original post... and btw, why would you want to spawn with commands rather than the interface? It's dead easy that way.

I want to spawn objects that aren't on the menu, and adding objects to the menu is too time consuming.

Pick up your mouse and say "engage manual control" into it. This transfers control to you. Then say "console, spawn A in location X,Y,Z" A being the character and X,Y, and Z being positional information.

Don't forget to say into the mouse "disengage manual control". I forgot this once and I said "2 sausages please". The game crashed because there are no sausage models

Yeah, I forgot that method. It only works for me about half the time though.

I'm not sure if this is a joke or not, but spawn isn't a command.
