How to play as different characters in HL2?

I need to knonw how to control different characters, like Sonic from the Sonic Heroes Model pack. Where do I put the models and how do I load them? Please Help.

I purposely left it out to make it as clear as possible that it was meant as a statement, because it is hard enough to tell tones with just written words. ...And this is exactly why I didn't put a question-mark in there. You don't seem to understand the little things, (like the fact that it was NOT a question) so if I had put a question-mark at the end of something that was NOT a question, I can see that it would have blown your mind.
