how to spawn birds?

Hello people

So i got this idea. I need something to do while waiting for the first hl2 mod to appear... So i though why not shoot some birds? And there's way too few of them so i figured maybe spawn some?
Been looking through, and maybe npc_create is the way to go, any ideas on what the name of the bird might be?

npc_create npc_crow works, I think, but (at least when I tried it) it never flew anywhere, it just twitched around a bit as if stuck. I suspect to get them to fly, you'll need to place them in maps in hammer, once the full SDK is released.
