I get some weird error when I try to start a new game

It says - engine error
model models/weapons/v_stunstick.mdl not found and models/error.mdl coudln't be loaded
Whats up with that?

means your missing the model file for the stunstick. Probably just a bad download, try re downloading and then reinstalling it, should work fine. if not then I'm not sure what you'd do.

Try validating :
steam://validate/220
