Identify a song!

Okay, so this little snippet of a tune has been playing in my head for a while and I'm fairly certain it's from a film soundtrack. I thought at first it was from Armageddon, but after listening to bits of Armageddon theme tune on youtube I couldn't actually match what I had hummed into my MP3 player recorder to what I was hearing.

Rather than upload my voice humming stupidly, I played the song snippet through trial and error using this virtual keyboard (I have no musical ability).

The notes are:
EDC, CC, DDC
CDE, DE, GD
x2.

If anyone can help me identify this, and point me to an MP3 example, I would be very much obliged. We could use this thread in future for similar identification requests, but for now I want my question answered!

EDIT: You may also agree that it sounds a little like parts of the MGS theme.

I dunno... but i did catch a pretty cool tune that I can't remember what it's from...

Since I can't help you, maybe this will help you waste a little time till someone with the answer comes.
