It would most likely require a complete reform in the american political system. But sweden have seven parties in the parlament (those with the real power) and it works quite well, we have three parties in the goverment and it works, sure there are times when they dont get along but overall it works ok.

Besides just 2 parties can in no way represent all the views of the american people. No person should have to feel they have to chose the lesser of two evils.

Hey, we have got an effective 3 party system here in the UK, and the 3 concerned haven't broken up for a long time. The Conservatives are older than the USA, in fact.

I've always harbored the belief that political parties in general are bad. Once you get into parties, they have a belief structure that is highly inflexible, so if you're running as a Democrat, you HAVE to be pro-choice, and if you're running as a Republican, you HAVE to be pro-gun rights. It just seems to make a whole lot of carbon-copy candidates, instead of making many different candidates with many different diverse stands on different issues.

in canada we have multiple majorty parties and some how the liberals get it every year

You will never get another major party unless our political system completely changes; currently the democrats and republicans simply have too much control.

I think the entire political party system is stupid and needs to be done away with; too bad that will also never happen.
