1. Yeah... I guess it was delayed... heh, didn't realize that!
2. How do you know that?
3. Perhaps you should stop being upset and start thinking...

1. Dont listen to anyone like Amazon, thats just a dumb idea to begin with.
2. Wrong
3. Don't post stuff that people are going to dump on you about. Thats your fault.

1. The only official release dates for Half-Life 2 (that excludes retailers as they are unaffliated to Vivendi/Sierra/Valve) have been September 2003, April 2004 and Summer/TBC2004. April 2004 was a possible date listed in Vivendi's release schedule, which was corrected a few days later with To Be Confirmed.

2. The reason the game was delayed was because it isn't finished. They were still working on parts of it when the last forum members visited the Valve offices, and by their own admission it wasn't finished. It'd be easier for them to say they need to spend six months restructuring the code because of the leak rather than admitting it wasn't finished. The latter would make us think it's their fault rather than the hackers. No one would lie about that.

3. People will crap on you if you post stuff like "STOP THE ****ING DELAYS" and then get angry about a lot of information and spout off a lot of information that you have incorrect. It would gain about as much respect as a homeless guy walking into Bill Gates' office at Microsoft in the middle of a meeting and insisting to everyone that HE is the real founder of Microsoft and Bill Gates stole his identity.

So to summarise:

The current release date of Half-Life 2 is to be confirmed. Valve have hinted at a Summer 2004 release which would stretch from the period of 01 June 2004 and 30 September 2004.

The game will be out when it's good enough for you to like it.

Please don't make false accusations, get angry about false information or generally make a fool out of yourself or threads will be closed.

:)

Hope that clears everything up.

Saying it "isn't finished" and that they are "still working on it" isn't the same as an admission that the game wasn't ready to go Sept 30th and that the source leak wasn't responsibile. If they are beta testing, localizing or just trying to settle on a really cool looking box, then they are "still working on it."

Personally, I lean towards working to get Steam consistently stable as what they were "still working on", but none of us will know the whole story until after the game ships. It should make for an interesting read.

Valve.

"The game was not finished, it would have been delayed with or without the leak"
