I'm sure you've all heard of expansion packs - the additions to games after they've been released = like Everquest had several expansion packs - and Diablo had an expansion pack.

Recently, a game I played, had an expansion pack along with the
official release. Final Fantasy XI Online had an expansion pack shipped with it at release called Chains of Promithia.

What if HL2 ships with an expansion pack which includes DM & DoD? Rumors are that DoD Source is in the works - as well as maybe TFC2?

Perhaps this is the suprise that Gabe spoke of - or things he is referring to when he says "wait and see"

Actually the expansion pack released with FFXI was Rise of the Zilart. Chains of Promathia is a seperate expansion.

Anyways Valve has already said there's no current plans for a HL2DM and DoD:S will be released seperately at retail.
