Im thinkin of gettin HL2 Game of the year edition. I dont have HL2 , just HL2 EP1. It costs £30, is it worth it for all that extra stuff u get. And whats Half Life: Source??

Hl: Source is basically Half-life 1 ported to the new engine. It is HL1 with prettier water, some physics and a few minor changes.

I'd say it's worth it just to play HL2.

Or if you want to go CRAZY BREAD and have everything for a really low price: Link (Online only though)

What about Counter Strike SOurce, is there a strong online community for that?

Oh and if you get HL2, you can also download 42 free modifications for it. And about 1200 are still in production :p

The only two differences between the HL2 GOTY edition and the original edition is that firstly, only GOTY has HL Source and secondly, only GOTY is "in print" anymore, because Sierra no longer have the right to sell the original version. There is also a collectors edition retail package which is basically the GOTY's games in a tin (in europe at least) and with a ridiculously sized T-Shirt. That's very hard to find, and entirely not worth it anymore.

Obviously, the answer is "Yes" overall. If you want a Box you HAVE to buy Half-Life 2 GOTY unless you find the original version by chance, but that is never even marked down in price in my experience. If a box doesn't fuss you, you could get the "Source Premier Pack" thorugh Steam, but rather frustratingly, this includes Episode One which you already have. I would definitely steer away from buying the "Half-Life 2" pack on Steam, for its lack of Counter Strike Source, easily the most popular Source-based multiplayer game. If you then wanted to get CS: Source, you'd have to pay $19.95 for it alone through steam.
