I'm trying to duplicate the set up I have at work with dual monitors on to my home PC. Currently it runs with the center *Laptop* screen as the main. It looks like it should. Task Bar is fully there, everything looks normal. Second monitor is just like an extra Desktop to the left/right/up/down. I use Windows to configure the location of said monitor. It does not have a task bar, it's just as it should be...an extra monitor.

Now, at home, the Nvidia control panel essentially lets me do a very limited amount of things. I can tell it I want a cloned side by side monitor, an extended desktop *So if I'm playing an FPS, the cursor is in the dead center of the two* or vertical extend. All of which are not what I'm wanting. I tried getting Windows to let me control how I want it, but I'm assuming Nvidia doesn't want that, so they disabled anything to do with multiple monitors through the display settings.

Help? :(

Get an ATi card.

Seriously though, I had the same problem, until i went ATi. You'll just have to go into nvidia setting and change to single monitor every time you game.

Unless there a fix, in which case google is your friend

EDIT: i've had an idea, run the game in windowed mode, the size of the monitor you want. done.

Games like StarCraft have no "Windowed Mode" :(

I have the 8800Gt and mine doesn't do dual monitor support too. It basically just copies the image over even when its supposed to be shared. And then the mouse doesn't work on the other screen anyway. its a big letdown

I can get it to work...it just sucks when the taskbar stretches all the way to the other side...and the middle of both monitors is where my games middle is *Crosshair in FPS*

There is no "dual view" option?

What resolution are you working with on both screens?
I'm surprised you have extended and clone modes available but not the dual view.
Do you have 1 card or is it SLI?

1 Card, 2 DVI ports.

I have a feeling it's either...

A.) Resolution
B.) Screen Size

I have a 22" widescreen as the primary and a 21" old school CRT as the secondary. I'm imagining that's going to be the problem. :( Sucks, cause it's a good monitor!

I used a 1280x1024 LCD with a 17" CRT @ 1024x768 for a long time. Worked fine with my Nvidia drivers at the time.

Ignore the Nvidia panel for a moment. Going into display properties, does it show just one monitor or 2 (1 current monitor that is enabled plus one greyed out). If so just right click on the greyed monitor and enable.
If only 1 is showing then have both monitors turned on and do a restart (so they get detected when windows is starting).

Sadly, I don't get 2 monitors...I get the good ol "Big picture of a regular monitor" and that's it. That's how I do it with my work Laptop.

OK RESOLVED.

I had to fkn reboot. That's it. WHAAAAT?
