Hi all, kind of a n00bish question, how the hell do I get the mod to work and how do I get console up to play the map? where do i unzip the files to? I can find HL2.exe or nething
thanks

On your HL2 desktop icon, get into the icon's properties and type "-game jbmod" (without quotes) and "-console", if you don't have that either, into the target box, which should also have the file path and -applaunch 220 in it as well.

Start up the game and the console will appear, type "map <mapname>" (again, without quotes) into the console and whatever map you chose will load up. When in the game, open up the console again and type "give weapon_physcannon."

You're done! Now you can weld and have a fun time! Yippee! ...right...

where do i put the building blocks map to play it though, and what is its name?

in your half-life2 folder. extract the jbmod folder into hl2 folder where you see hl2.exe

has anyone found the solution to the jbmod problem of it not loading weapon_physgun?

it just deosnt like that enitity :/

If you get that error, you didnt install it correctly.

Checklist:
1.) Extracted jbmod into "C:\Steam\SteamApps\username\half-life 2" and NOT "C:\Steam\SteamApps\username\half-life 2\hl2". Thusly, the path after extraction to the MOD should be "C:\Steam\SteamApps\username\half-life 2\jbmod"
2.) You created a shortcut to run Half-Life 2, with the target on the shortcut being "C:\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 220 -game jbmod"
3.) You typed "give weapon_physgun" and not "give weapon_physcannon" or any other variation.

If it still dosent work, reinstall; becuase the error you got is pretty much saying "the thing you wanted to spawn dose not exist", which it should if you installed properly.

yeah, ive installed correctly, it has physgun enitity problems anyways, i.e. in normal hl2 so yeah i'm reinstalling :) hope it works!

also, when and if i do get jbmod running, deos anyone know the npc command for a turret? a friendly turret would be even better.

GAH! reinstalling did nothing although i can give you the complete error ;)

Attempted to create unknown entity type weapon_physgun!
Can't init weapon_physgun
Attempted to create unknown entity type weapon_stickylauncher!
Can't init weapon_stickylauncher
Couldn't find any entities named PhysGun, which point_template PhysGSpawn is specifying.
Couldn't find any entities named Sticky, which point_template Stickspawn is specifying.

well i'm stumped

Yeah, your not installing it correctly. Where are you extracting jbmod to? You should just be able to put it in SourceMODs and run it from the Steam Games list.

i'll try putting it in source mods, but just so you know it cant load sticky launcher OR the physgun in normal hl2.

Later that day....
Well i tried the source thing, mod loads great, level loads great physgun deosnt, exactly the same error.

I doubt this is a mod installation problem, or even a mod problem, most likely its something wrong with my hl2, however i have reinstalled and seeing as that didnt help i'm just going to give up.

How do i get the buildingblocks_final map as a single file...i only managed to find it in a map pack and i don't wanna download 87 mb for one map...lol

Thanks..

Maybe redownload the MOD?

already tried! ;)

it didnt work with earlier versions of jbmod either, same error.

I'm using the english dvd copy of hl2 (yes i did buy it) but that really shouldnt pose any problems.

Also my hl2 deosnt like the pilotable strider mod although thats for a different reason
