Jurassic RAge| CAN HL2 handle this much AI?

Hey everyone, Ive been thinking on the subject for a few days, and its getting me worried. Since JurassicRage is a DMCOOP mod, there will be a good amount of AI involved in the game. Will this hinder the performance when the game is being run online? hmm.....
 
Ill tell you right now, on mp ai is handled on the server if its ai that goes to the clients. Just how it is.

You can make ai be calculated on the clients but then its usually just local and other players wont see it.
 
Needs to be server side, all players have to be able to see it.
 
I think that you most definitely can have it run, it is just a question of tradeoffs, you may have to limit yourself to hitscan weapons, vehicles may have to be the simple version, that sort of thing. You may have to really optimise your AI code, and such.
 
Just limit it to like 10 person servers. SvenCoop is best with about 4 people. I think it is true with most coop games, you don't want too many people.
