Alright this is why im concerned.

IN the scene where you see the rocket in silo 1 for the first time, Kleiner and magnusson are disgusting about Lamar. Gordon comes in and the attention is drawn away from Lamar. well if you follow its moves, you will see that she ends up inside the rocket where Kleiner was fixing something. Kleiner is not going down to the rocket after this. this mean that Lamar is now inside. Problaly ruining everything for the humanity!

Well, everything ends up ok (sort of). The superportal closes and everyone is happy for about a minute.

Then Eli dies and it's not so good anymore

But you can't blame Lamarr for that.

Well no of course I cant blame lamarr for that, but still.. lets say it does'nt ruins everything.. Then another main character is death/gone ;(

i doubt one of the "main characters" 'Lamarr' is dead/lost. look at hl2 for instance, lamarr jumped through the portal in the beginning and now all of the sudden he is found in ep2?

No Lamarr was on beach for about 15 seconds

I thought about that as well. Seeing as how Lamar did teleport us to the wrong place. It could be possible his curiosity messed up this mission as well though we won't know that for sure until EP3, but I think it is safe to say nothing happened.

Well... Lamar didn't teleport us anywhere of course.Skipping that, I'd be suprised if Ep3 opens with "Oh by the way, the rocket went wrong just after you all went outside". That'd be too much like an episode of Rocket Man.

Possible spoiler.
I wondered about that too briefly but thought it highly unlikely that they'd repeat the same story twice. To paraphase Oscar Wilde to have one accident with an errant headcrab is unfortunate, to have two is sheer carelessness. Besides the rocket succeeded in it's job didn't it? I think we're seeing the end of the story arc in sight with whats left of the Combine on Earth needing to be mopped up without support from beyond the portal they're trapped.
Shouldn't this thread have a spoiler warning in the title?

I believe that is correct; I too think Lamar is in the rocket. But maybe you missed the rest, since I dont think I see anyone else mentioning it. Right after the strider attack and before the rocket is launched, Kleiner and Magnussen are having a conversation about how the payload weight is off but still acceptable. I forget the exact words. . .but my immediate impression at the time was that this was due to Lamar (and the gnome) :)

Someone put some headcrab bait in the rocket. D:

was the carcass of the rocket suppose to land back on earth, or explode in space?

I highly doubt the rocket exploded. It's mission was to broadcast a signal compiled from the data on Alyx's little memory stick in order to shut down the super portal. That being the case, i'd guess there was a satellite launched just like during the original ordeal at Black Mesa. And in turn, the rocket itself either burned up re-entering (most likely) or somehow that damned head crab survived a crazy parachute ride back to earth (not likely).

My opinion is that Lamarr is DEAD. Finally...

I tried to kill that little ba$tard a bunch of times in the original HL2. No luck though...

maybe they just caught another headcrab?

At the rocket, Lamarr seems to recognize you when it jumps into the rocket and hisses.
And also, the time between Lamarr being teleported out and Kleiner finding a replacement (without getting 'crabbed) can't have been more than a day or three. Judging by the 'playful' manner in which Lamarr was scuttling about when you finally see her, the fact she isn't trying to couple with anyone's head, and the way she clings to Kleiner like some pet needing reassuarance, I'm inclined to say they're quite close and that kind of bond only grows with time. :D

That's just my 0.02 Combine simulated non-mechanical reproduction credits.

It's a portal rocket. You know what happens when Lamarr comes into contact with portals? He goes through them. Then he goes where he wants to go.

It's a satalite...the rocket breaks into stages as it goes up...

Maybe the extra weight in fact referred to the Gnome instead... lol I wouldn't put it past Valve.

Lamarr was in the main section of the rocket. He's in space. In a portal satellite. Watch him teleport back home!

Go home, Lamarr! Go home!

You see him again in Half Life 2, you see him in Episode One, so its not quite "all of a sudden"

Sorry, my copy of Episode 1 kept crashing, and it was a chore to even get through it so I may not have noticed. Where does Lamarr appear in Episode 1, if you don't mind my asking?

I think its before Kliener starts his speech on the PA. He says something about a lamp being quite hot.

Lamarr looked cute, when she clang to Dr.Kleiner, when Magnusson (cocky ass) was yelling at her.

And i think Lamarr really WAS on the rocket.
Because when you get ready to see the launch, Kleiner (i think) remarks that the rocket payload has increased about 8.something pounds

Remember, you see Lamar peer out of the door when Kliener is holding a shotgun; after the portal in Nova Prospekt goes Klablamey between the two events.

grams are to small?

Grams are more accurate... mg is what they use for smaller mass.
Then you have physics in kilo's.
