Largest Military Plane Crashes - All Survive Amazingly.

Says alot for the quality of the aircraft and it's crew.

I can't even IMIGINE how freaked out I would be, if I were drenched in jet fuel. I would have felt safer wandering outside the gates of hell with a "God Rules" t-shirt, than at that moment.

Well, those aircraft are getting very old. C5 Galaxy was built in the 1950's during the cold war. Time for a major tune up on all the aircraft.

According to the article, 18 were taken to a local hospital and treated for snakebites.

One was put on record commenting how he had "had it with these mother****ing snakes on this... tasty burger."

*pssst* try clicking on "tasty burger" in my post...

Holy plane-thread-hijacking batman.

C-5's are ****ing monstrosities.

It's amazing it even flies.

But they aren't as big as the An225 :dozey:

Actually, that is not the largest military plane, that would be the russian antonov, but I'm not sure that the russian military use it anymore.

And technically jet fuel is harder to ignite than gasoline, and it's harder to ignite it when it's soaked in the ground than in a pool on the tarmac.

gas/air fuel is actually rather hard to ignite, that's why engines have to spray it in a mist to get it to ignite

damn you damn maxi

Sorry, the thread title refers to the largest AMERICAN military plane.

I am american, and didn't correct it for title sake, simply because it'd make the title unneccesarily complicated. Plus I forgot to mention it in my post.

I don't know anything about fuel... but don't they spray it into a mist to get better economy out of it?

gas doesn't erupt in a huge fireball everytime something hot comes near it. You can actually shoot a gas tank an all the gas will just leak out (see the mythbusters episode on it). to get gas to explode it has to be a proper mix of gas and air so it can burn (all fire needs 3 things, fuel, air, and an ignition source)
