The game does not always report the correct CPU speed. Someone had a 1.5 GHz CPU and the game said he only had 900 MHz.

Oh and btw, the game only reports your CPU speed in MHz.

It's nothing wrong with his CPU is HL2 not reading his speeds right, i have the same thing happen every now and then.. my 3200 was running at 3.4ghz according to HL2

a cpu does NOT need drivers, comon man,

i guess by your reasoning, that the bios doesnt use and cpu, or by booting with a dos boot disk running dos 622 you arent using any cpu ? well you cant , cause there isnt a driver loaded for the cpu in the config.sys or a TSR in the autoexec.bat

im sure the programmers of HL2 know how to address the hardware better than looking for windows to see what it has

Its just a hardware report. CPUs do not use IRQs nor do they have memory addresses.
