Personally, I don't like it very much. For a game that's supposed to cram immersion into you by the bucketload, it's very annoying to be nearly defeated by boars and wild bears on the road, or find bandits with Daedric Armour trying to do you in. I mean, guys! You're carrying at the very least 1k worth of armour! Just sell it and buy a shack in the Imperial City!
The loot system is weird too. In Morrowind I remember entering dungeons (very, very occasionally... travel was sooooo slow in Morrowind) and coming out with unique and awesome loot. In oblivion i enter dungeon after dungeon and come out with misc. tidbits. Not so fun.
I can't deny that Oblivion is a fun, great, game. I can deny that the Levelling system makes it the best game eva.
