Well I have a local tv station that I have and they use Final Cut Pro ($1,000 price tag WTF) and big beefy Apple computers. Using an Apple computer is like being a righty all your life but then somebody forcing you to drive with only your left foot. It doesn't make sense to me whatsoever BUT I do like their notebooks. I went to the mall today to check out their stuff (iPad and iTouch are pretty cool) and tried out the Macbook Pro. http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/

The Macbook Pro came with a basic but very much usable video editing software on it compared to Windows Movie Maker. They have Final Cut Express ($200 price tag almost normal) which is the much better for me than the Pro variation. It also had other stuff such as the audio editior, in-built camera, etc. The problem isn't that it would take a slight learning curve, it's the price and value. I looked up the notebook on newegg and right on the front page I saw a better, much cheaper laptop that only cost $720 compared to the Apple $1,700+ laptop I was using!

I like how the Apple software is really user friendly once you get it and is coded so it runs efficiently. I am confident I can do the same though for less. Any suggestions on the laptop and software? Remember I'm looking for RAM and CPU and the GPU taking the backseat this time around.

*I heard Adobe After Effects and some other software can make videos like this:
