looks like Governor

who looks like Governor Tarkin from StarWars is talking to you. He also talks at the end of the game. I haven't played the first game because I'm using the 360. So, who is this guy and where does he fit into the story?

Basically to sum up the first game, alien invasion happens at an underground research lab where you work as a scientist. When you defeat the alien boss that man comes and reveals he has been monitoring you through out the incident and then offers you a job. Your actually given a choice if if you want the job or not but Half-life 2 assumes you did. After you accept he puts you in stasis and wakes you up 20 years later where half-life 2 begins. No one knows what his motives are and appears to have abnormal powers. He is an on going mystery through out the half-life series.

in all reality these gman threads are getting old quick.. there needs to be a sticky made for this or something.. or some where noted in big bold letters with a picture when you sign up. Something that says

"If you are here to ask about this character.. he is the gman and we are still unaware of its exact roll in the story... please do not ask.. if you've played all the way through hl 1 - hl2eps2.. we dont know to much more then you do.. now you can move on with your life.. have a nice day"
