Alrighty, I've been searching and searching for a major city...

The only one I might've come across is one with an oblivion portal in it, Kvatch I think it's called.

Assistance? Can't seem to find a way to make the map bigger and moveable when hitting tab. :|

Excuse my newbishness. :o

Press F4 and look for a tab that has the world with a compass over it. And tehre you go.

I guess many people havn't realised the compass is a button.

click and hold the mouse button to scroll the map. now you can move the map around. Click on any of the major cities to travel there instantly, while other areas need to be discovered first.

for the most part, I found a dungeon or town or something ever few minutes. Once you discover the new area, make sure you explore the entrance to make sure (it shoud say, "Discovered Ruby Mines" or whatever you've found - now you can return there anytime you want instantly by clicking the icon on the map.

One great way to maneuver through the menus very quickly is to use the mouse wheel - at least my mouse wheel is quite fast and easier than clicking on the scroll bars on the sides of menus.

Oh snap, the compass is a button :O

Well that just made my exploration alot easier. ^.^

Which city has the Dark Brotherhood?

I think this version (if it's the latest) is bundled with a UI changer which makes the whole menu more like a PC game, with more space for actual listing and less for the pretty buttons [/console-bash]

Mirror (with details):

Yes it makes the map space bigger too, and lowers the text size so you can view more items on the screen at once. Other stuff too, like making it so the UI doesn't burn your retina every time you go to look at it while in a cave.

Alrighty... I'll use that UI thing, the UI ingame does seem rather large.(blame the console port D:)

Now for another question, in the config file... is there anything in the that effects blood and gore?
What I mean is... is there a line in there that changes the combat system-thing so that EVERY time I hit someone, blood will always come out?

You have to kill someone in cold blood before you can join the DB. My recommendation is to sneek up to a begger or to a house without a lock and kill them while sleeping, preferably with a club.

Club fetish?

You must of pirated the game to be asking such dumb questions. ....because you clearly have neither the game map or the manual. :rolleyes:

By default, blood sprays with any strike of 1 (or maybe it's 10) damage or more. What are you hitting them with? I've only tried blade weapons, so I don't know about others.

Blade weapons :p
Specifically a Claymore I found in the Oblivion planes.

Commands for blood:

fDecalLifetime=30.0000 (Default is 10)
This is how long blood lasts in seconds.
iMaxDecalsPerFrame=50 (Default is 10)
This value basically makes it so that there's more blood than normal.
fMinBloodDamage=1.0000
This basically is how much damage you have to do before blood comes out. I wouldn't recommend bogging this down, it seems to cause problems.

Oh, nifty...

Alrighty new problem...
The Thieves Guild...

It is located in the City Isle in Imperial City isn't it?

If so, do I have to be there at 12 sharp?... or is it not in Imperial City at all?

I went to the spot the waypoints led me to, and it just took me to this house with some dude that says he used to be construction worker/miner one of the two.

And as for the DB, I've killed 2 beggars and that's resulted in my arrest twice.
I go back to the basement in the abandoned house it still doesn't let me in...
Keeps saying "What is the color of night" or something, and just gives me one option... which is to leave. D:

It's outside the city gates, near the pirate boat, around the place with the poor shack houses. You have to be there at night, which is like, after 11pm, before 6am.

That's where I was D:

I went around 2am x.x

Oh well, I'll check again.

I thought that guy in the shack was the thieves guild guy O.o

Been trying to befriend him so he'll give me some info no GreyFox

If you bribe a beggar enough, he'll tell you about the Gray Fox and be allowed to join the theives guild.

Crap, I shouldn't have killed those beggars then. x.x

Yeah, if you killed the beggars, you're f*cked.
Stupid stupid stupid for killing NPCs anyway :/

Beggars = theives guild allies

Yeah, that's what all the townspeople say.

So I give them a coin every time I see one, and see if she'll say something.

Should play speachcraft with one though.

Wann join the theives guild REALLY REALLY Bad :D

Nonono, that's not how you bribe...

you click on the speechcraft icon, then click "bribe".

Yeah, but that's too much moola.

I'm a poor lvl4.

The persuasion game is pretty easy after a while, but it caps dependant on your skill... which sucks.

Yeah. All you have to do, is do a test run to see which two of the four negatively effects your relationship, and which effects it positively, then just click the positive ones when they're high, and the negative ones when they're low. Then use the rotation to switch the negs to low.

When you kill an innocent it will display a message along the lines of "This action has been watched by some wierd presence or another" The next time you sleep the DB speaker will appear and start talking to you about your initation test.

Goto some pub kill a guy sleep and your in.

Ah, that explains a bit...

I haven't slept ingame in quite some times :P

Problem is, people are assosciated with quests. I never work out who's who. End result? I never murder anyone. It's a pain.

I guess I could murder them, then ressurect them... hmmm...

if they have a crown icon when you hover over them you cant kill them as they're necessary to a quest ...just find a sleeping beggar and kill him

Not everyone who's associated with a quest has a crown, only those whom Bethesda deemed too important to die. It's pretty arbitrary in the long run. If someone associated with a quest dies during the quest, you'll get a popup telling you the quest is now impossible. If they die but their quest hadn't been started yet then I don't think you get told anything. So it's easy to assume you can kill whoever you want, but you can close some sidequests that way. I'm the same as Jintor, I don't kill anyone I don't need to, since the AI in my game seems to be doing a pretty good job slaughtering itself.

All the beggars are pretty interchangeable though.

oh oh I killed dozens of people in imperial city ..well the guards did (rage spells ftw)

HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT!

I've grown to each of the beggars of the different towns :)

Ive grown to each too, by putting apples in their pockets as a sign of my gratitude. And then filming them taking a nibble = ]

Scum, i say! You killed the beggar! The gray fox's wrath visit you...

Well, wrath yourself. You're *supposed* to protect the beggars.

Why do they ask for coins when they can just eat a shroom and then rummage through a box for some shoes and 10 bucks? I don't get how people are poor in this game and why a guard stands next to a barrel with 20 bucks worth of stuff only to get 1 septim a day... Hell, why doesn't he just rip the flower off the wall he's standing next to? That's worth his salary for the day.
