BBC Radio 1 has said it will stand by its ban on the word "******" from the Pogues' 1987 Christmas hit Fairytale of New York to avoid offence.

The BBC said: "We are playing an edited version because some members of the audience might find it offensive."

I'm surprised they haven't censored the word 'Christmas' yet, just on the off-chance that Muslims might find it offensive.
 
I couldnt understand anything he sang in that song. He needs to pronounce his words more clearly.

I think it needs to be made clear that Radio 1 is part of the BBC, but it's under it's own control, and the decision wasn't representative of the whole company (thank god). The amusing thing is that radio 1 is the edgy young persons channel, where as Radio 2 is the pipe & slippers channel and the guys running that were more than happy to play it unedited. Needless to say no surprise that they managed to find at least one gay activist who supported the original ban. :dozey:

Christmas is coming. Many collection of christmas songs are available in shop. In my land FM radio, new technology is launched. We can hear the christmas songs from this. Enjoy the christmas season....................
