Mounting pictures to walls

Hello gents,

First post here! Hello!

Started creating my first map a couple of days ago and I am slowly grasping it...keyword being 'slowly' :D

However, I've come to the point of furnishing it and I'm getting stuck on mounting pictures to walls ala cs_office where you can shoot them off...

Any ideas or help would be HUGELY appreciated and if you do know how to do it, please tell me in simple terms :D

You want to make the picture model as a prop_physics. Under flags you will want to check the box that says "Start Asleep" This means that the physics object will not start moving until its disturbed by an object, or gunfire. In that case, if you want to prevent the picture falling if somebody walks up to it you are going to want to also check the box that says "Prevent motion enable on player bump."

Easy as that.

And I've been sitting here using phys_constraints and all manner of other experiments to get it to work and it was as simple as that...Cheers TC, you're a star
 
Hmm strange. Now for some reason, when I Run the map to test it out, it seems everything I've done from a certain point isn't being 'run'...it reverts back and plays the map instead of updating it with new parts/entities/physics etc...

Any ideas?

Apparently according to Interlopers.net....the error message means I have a displacement tied to an entity...
The thing is, on my Visgroups, I have no displacements anywhere...and now none of my brush entities are appearing when I decompile and run the map...

Strange.
 
Check all of your brushwork. There must be something tied to an entity, possibly by accident.
 
Found it.

Was a entity I named Plank2 which was somehow invisible....have no idea how it happened. Only found it by systematically deleting each brush until I came across it...looked suspicious and low and behold, that was the problem. Cheers once again for the help...
