Mouse filter?!

Mouse filter in HL2 and later source-games doesn't seem to work very well. I see no real difference if I turn it on or off.

In FEAR and Far Cry mouse filter is totally silk smooth, but in HL2 it's more choppy. Anyone have a clue why?

Btw I have an 8800GTX and a Razer mouse, so it should be smooth.

Razer? No more questions... IHMO Razer is worst manufacturer :)

Becuase you lack ram?

Mabye, mabye not. Thats all i can think of now.

It's because Half-Life hates you and your children. Now go buy a better mouse or an adviser will mind rape you.

Razer = shit mouse.

What's wrong with Razer? They make excellent mice. I've been using Razer mice for over three years and haven't had any issues.

As for the original question, leave Mouse Filter unchecked. This setting does not resolve mouse lag, and might actually make it worse.

Isn't that the mouse with the weights?

The Razer's line of mice does have an upgrade kit, bought separately, that includes a customizable weight system. (A gimmick, in my opinion.) This addition is no different than what their competitor in pro-gaming mice(Logitech) has to offer.

Yeh I know someone who let me borrow the mouse with the weights. I took all the whole slide thing out and tossed it aside.

Look, as SpectreBlofeld has been trying to point out, it's not my mouse. Thanks for trying to help, but my Razer Diamondback works perfectly fine in all games, so please stop trying to make this a discussion about the mouse.

Now, if you play a game with an FPS above 60-70, you know that the mouse look movement is silk smooth right? That is if you have mouse filter set high enough. It's like that when I play FEAR or Far Cry.

But in HL2 the mouse movement is a little bit more choppy. Not much, but just enough to be noticable. Even though my FPS is way above 60. I'm sure you will also notice it if you look for it.

I was just wondering why it's not as silk smooth as in the other games. Is it perhaps some kind of protection against motion sickness or something?

I have 3 gigs of RAM, so that should be enough.
