im in the market for an mp3 player...

lookin for 30gigs < 300$ price range..

pitz has a zen.. but i think that is a bit much for me.. i want somthin i can shove in my pocket...
and somthing that is durable would be a plus..

-edit forgot to ask my question--

so what do you all suggest? i heard ipods are ok.. but meh @ i tunes.. i kinda just want somthing to shove all my music on and call it good..

Tbh, sounds like an Ipod is exactly what you're looking for. If you don't like itunes, there's a few 3rd party syncing programs like floola

Cyberpitz's thingy is pretty hot too

I have a 30 gig video Ipod, and it hasn't failed me yet. It was 200-250.

I have a slvr phone with itunes myself and itunes are really not that bad. All of your music can be transfered without a problem. Most of my friends that have ipods like them and the fact that they have lifetime warranties. If they break them or anything they can just get a new one so durability isn't really a problem. Best of luck.

Zen Vision:M. It's 30 gigs, plays video, is more durable than a video Ipod, and last time I checked it was only $200 Canadian at Best Buy.

I'll have to agree with the Vision M recommendations. Mine has been fantastic, never any problems, supports a bunch of file formats, interface is easy and you pick it up in just minutes.

I bought a zen, i didnt like it at all. Just aget an ipod, they work great and are very easy to use...

i thought i read somwhere that ipods can only play mp4.. but im sure they changed that.. if it was even true..

i pod has that fancy radio dealy for your car too.. does that thingy go in the cigarette lighter adapter thingamajig.. cause i dont have one in my car.. hehe

i dunno... i guess what it boils down to is who would i rather give my money to.. creative or mac.. im not a big fan of either.. ..

so.. i shall choose the greater evil i do believe..

iTunes isn't horrible, but I prefer Anapod. Basically turns it into an external drive, where you can drag n drop files wherever and transfer files from iPod to comp, etc etc.

i see.. so pretty much you can haxxor your ipod.. HMMm this is sounding good :)

Seem this is what I was talking about in the other thread. Ipod's advertising is so overwhelming that people dont even know that there ARE options.

What your talking about is an FM transmitter... and you can get one for ANY mp3 player. Theres a Belkin one that I use and it can run on either a cigarette lighter OR two AAA batteries. Pretty sweet.

And screw itunes. Srsly.

Heh, if you want to get real fancy, you can install Linux on the iPod and run all kinds of crazy shit on it (i.e. Doom). Drawback is it'll ruin your warranty...

iTrip and all other Ipod-specific tuners: $49.99 and up
Belkin TuneCast that works on any MP3 player: $29.99

well I have a 20G colour ipod and the small shuffle ..I prefer the shuffle cuz it's small and since I mostly listen to podcasts it holds more than enough to take anywhere I go

oh and I recently bought a car and one of the first questions was whether the car came with a jack to plug in my ipod ..it did and I thought to myself "sold"
