Capatin obvious award on the titles. I seriously loled at the "my other paintings"

I like the one with the shoes.

This is just my style preference, but I think if you are going to paint mundane objects, it would be more fun to put a very strong style into it. Like sharp bright colours or textures. Greys and browns tend to make the whole thing flat. I know I have the same problem sometimes.

I disagree, it looks very realisticly lit, giving it more depth/perspective with less colors.
Making it cartoony would make it seem more flat id say...

Yeah, I think it is a style preference, however, the photos are crappy too, i have to say the actual paintings have more contrast and color

those paintings are done in a "limited pallet", i was just painting from observation and tryied to get as close to the colors which i saw
