My preload went from 100% to....0%

I had it fully downloaded from weeks ago and now I just checked it and its at 0% and I am downloading it again...

It looks like I have all the downloaded files still in my steam folder...

Can someone give me any suggestions on how to fix this PLEASE!

Nothing has changed since a few weeks ago? No errors, Steam changes, backups? Have you downloaded all the phases as they come out?

Mine was on 49%, I click on continue preload and it shot up to 96% and quickly downloaded the remaining..

Not sure what to tell you.

I had some problems with Steam, so uninstalled/reinstalled.

A friend of mine told me, Steam would keep game content... 'bullshit btw'

So reinstalling it.

But! Just woke up, after setting it to preload again, it's at 38.2%, BUT

sourcematerials.gcf , half-life 2 content.gcf, sourcengine.gcf, sourcemodels.gcf, sourcesound.gcf, counter-strike source shadered.gcf

All remain in my C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps Directory.

Adding up to 4.20 gb

What's the story?
