I thought about Gordon's heroic actions and I got bizarre idea. Is he really able to do all of this acts with abilities of man of science who never handled a weapon until the Black Mesa? In words of of Dr.Breen - " How could one man have slipped through your force's fingers time and time again? How is it possible? This is not some agent provocateur or highly trained assassin we are discussing. Gordon Freeman is a theoretical physicist who had hardly earned the distinction of his Ph.D. at the time of the Black Mesa Incident. I have good reason to believe that in the intervening years, he was in a state that precluded further development of covert skills. The man you have consistently failed to slow, let alone capture, is by all standards simply that-an ordinary man. How can you have failed to apprehend him? "
My idea is: Maybe Gordon (and also another heroes - Shephard, Alyx, Barney, Gina and Colette) got some weird and almost supernatural ability to "survive against all odds". I don't mean some cartoon-like superheroes abilities gained by radiation or something like this but it could be caused by some special gene or nanorobots in their body and this could be injected at G-man's order...maybe...
Just idea...

They have been exposed to the sample, the rock you got as an avatar. It grants you super powers.

I think that Gordon, Adrian, Barney, Alyx, Gina and Colette are naturaly (extremly) fit, calm (steady hands) and have a high threshold for pain.
*thinks for a moment*
Or there were genetic engineering going on in BM and the HECU.

I don't know about Drs. Green and Cross (I didn't play their adventure so I can't say if they did anything "super" or not), but the only super one on that list would be Gordon Freeman.

Adrian Shephard was an incredibly good soldier; his abilities came through rigorous training for combat situations, and some quick thinking on his part.

Barney also had some firearms training (of course not as extensive as Adrian's), along with luck and the fact that he didn't have to deal with anything too extraordinary in his adventure. He mostly fought standard grunts.

Gordon Freeman is the only one with any incredible survival abilities. He did more than any of those four combined, and without any formal training save for how to use his suit and a little BMRF firearms training. The only thing that would've given him any sort of "super powers" would've been his exposure to the vortessence...and we can see that hasn't done anything (yet). So for the time being Gordon, and everyone else's abilities, are either natural or born of training.

Also, they all cheat because they wear armor suits.

Hardly cheating whent he odds are against them :P
And yes, Gordons the only one with the real abilities.

You don't see the vortigaunts wearing armor suits. The odds are against THEM, if anyone. In the initial invasion, they got pushed through the portals by controllers and went up against heavily-armed human marines (who were also wearing armor suits!). Vortigaunts are also more scientists and philosophers if you think about it, not warriors...

if anyone had super powers, it's the vortigaunts. They went into battle NAKED, and some of them managed to come out alive.

But Alyx is like Wolvereine with those f*cking healing abilities of hers!

Its onely there becouse she dosent realy get shot.

You see no blood on her. She dosent realy get shot. onely hurt to evetualy die if you suck, since it takes a hell of a lot of bullets to bring her down. Same goes for Barney, onely, he bleeds.

Ah, I took "doesn't really get shot" to mean "she doesn't get shot often". Nevermind.
