I thought about Gordon's heroic actions and I got bizarre idea. Is he really able to do all of this acts with abilities of man of science who never handled a weapon until the Black Mesa? In words of of Dr.Breen - " How could one man have slipped through your force's fingers time and time again? How is it possible? This is not some agent provocateur or highly trained assassin we are discussing. Gordon Freeman is a theoretical physicist who had hardly earned the distinction of his Ph.D. at the time of the Black Mesa Incident. I have good reason to believe that in the intervening years, he was in a state that precluded further development of covert skills. The man you have consistently failed to slow, let alone capture, is by all standards simply that-an ordinary man. How can you have failed to apprehend him? "
My idea is: Maybe Gordon (and also another heroes - Shephard, Alyx, Barney, Gina and Colette) got some weird and almost supernatural ability to "survive against all odds". I don't mean some cartoon-like superheroes abilities gained by radiation or something like this but it could be caused by some special gene or nanorobots in their body and this could be injected at G-man's order...maybe...
Just idea...
