"You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and to focus on fixing things. I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won't hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that."

She later claimed she was trying to 'be sarcastic' which doesn't make any sense whatsoever, given her tone and the exact text of what she said.

This is a scary precedent. We actually have elected leaders now calling for suspended elections due to a time of crisis. Hopefully she is voted out ASAP. It's ridiculous that she can even have such thoughts, let alone think it's acceptable to voice them!
