There are better quality videos out there, but this one buffers fast. You get the idea.

It actually has me a little hyped. Looks like it's coming for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It should come for PC as well, but I haven't heard anything.

At the end of the video it says 5-31-07. www.needforspeed.com

Should mean there will be more info at the website on that date.

NFS: Pro Street. A polish mag had a preview on the game in their latest issue. It's the trailer which is coming 5-31-07.

I just wish they would return to the old NFS style like Hot Pursuit or Porsche Unleashed. Underground 1/2, Most wanted and Carbon don't exist as far as I'm concerned i ****ing hate this "Fast and the Furious" inspired crap.

Who gives a flying ****? IMO NFS has sucked ****ing ass since Need For Speed 3(4 was pretty good too though).

I loved Need for Speed Underground.

I have played almost all of the series, and beaten several of them, and my general opinion is that the games kind of suck.

They suck because they are way too arcade-like for my taste.

The first one on the PS1 wasn't really like that, but it has gotten more and more over the top over the years.

The games are still kind of fun, and much better than most racing games, but once I played GTR 2, I have never played, or wanted to play NFS: Carbon since.

I still hope that one day they will get it right on, but they are still good games that are worthy of playing - for a while at least, in my opinion.

This one, 'Pro Street' seems to be custom tailored to my tastes, so I might like it. I even went to see the world finals.

Bring back Hot Pursuit! I played that game so much on my Ps2 it was awesome.

Ahh, Need For Speed. The game that nobody would play unless the cars look nice. The game for chavs.

Carbon on Wii isn't bad, controls work great. Hot Pursuit would easily be my favorite if I didn't get a Wii.

You know the first Need for Speed was like for adults. It had this old announcer guy who sounded like he could be one of those guys on 'lifestyles of the rich and famous'. It was endorsed by Road & Track magazine or something? [citation needed] And the driving was at least trying to be realistic.

Progressively, it's like they tried to appeal to a younger and younger audience with each iteration of the game.

So I got older and the games got younger. Basically.

Yeah, and the super freaking gold plated medallion emblem bling shit is completely up to the player Stardog. You can make your car flat black with flat black wheels if you want.

They just need to go back to being realistic. It will never be a simulation, but it's gotten way 'off track'. :/

Early impressions are that this is going to be more NFSPU than say, NFS:C. I played nearly every one of the series and can honestly say that NFSPU was the best. It had just the right balance between Simulation and arcadyness (Nothing like ass sliding a 73' Carrera through the mountain switchbacks), good damage modeling, fun gameplay modes etc.

fingers crossed!

You want arcade go play Ridge Racer. NFS hasn't neared that level of retardation..yet.

Oh God. A Need For Speed with a damage model. Oh my God.

uhhh NFS has been crap for years now
think they can redeem themselves with this one?
possibly a full damage system? that might get me interested...

nfs stoped being awsome when they taked the "yo yo fast and da mothafocking furiou gangsta pimpimp yo!" style

Yeah. But it looks like they droped that baby stuff and have moved on to a more realistic pro street race car scene. hopefully they don't over-do it, and make everything so... trademarkable. That stuff makes me sick.

You have to give it a chance.

I can't blame them for taking all the kids lunch money for games with re-charge-over time nitros, slow motion buttons (W T F?) and jumping over draw-bridges.

Please say it has nothing to do with that this time, or basically, **** NFS.

I loved Most Wanted, more than the rest at least. Carbon can suck my dick, it sucked.

its EA,if something give them money they will stick to it like flys to the shit

so I doubt they changed all that stuff

ROTFL VirusType2, do you honestly believe what you're writing yourself? This is Evil-****ing-A, not some pro-sim/realism dev, heck I can't name a single sim to come out from EA since the last Janes series of flight sims released by EA.

And besides, the Need For Speed series sell a ton as arcade racers ala Underground and Most Wanted, no way they will change a winning formula.

I thought Most Wanted was pretty good, and Carbon was just OK.

The main thing I didn't like was they left out police pursuits and free roaming in the custom race/split screen mode.

I hope its like most wanted, carbon wasn't nearly as great as MW

I remember playing Hot Pursuit a lot. I think that was the only NFS I bought.

yeah im playing carbon right now bc it was free and im poor and exceptionally bored. my friend was going to throw it away so i borrowed it. not the best NFS game to say the least...

Screw NFS now since they left the pimping scene in Underground.

Forza 2 ftw!

This game highlights everything wrong with young culture...and EA.

It's the same game but you can damage your car!

nevermind. just saw a video of the second one looks amazing. and like 300 something cars... thats redic.

I can't get into Forza....I play video games so I DON'T have to worry about every little detail on my car...like wind/speed/torque/turning/friction/hills/planets being aligned/etc. That might be why I love Burnout!

Interesting, I'm the exact opposite, because what you described got me drooling.

I still love some great arcade racing games, but mostly I like them as realistic as possible, as long as I can do as I please and don't have to sit in traffic.

Burnout - it's just a bunch of textures and a fast game engine. It's not even a car you are driving, it just looks like one, because it sure doesn't drive like one. Something like just a tech demo.

I'd rather play the classics like Pole Position, Turbo, Sprint, Hard driving, etc.

That's OK, you have Burnout, I have my favorites.

Carbon was my first NFS. Was half way decent...finished the career easily. Now Im on Most Wanted, and I love it. So much more to do..I totally prefer drag racing to drifting comps, etc...besides, any game that has a classic Camaro cant be all bad!

That floor texture is terrible.

Sorry but im barely ever looking at the floor texture as its flying past me at nitro-speed.

Oh ya, too much bloom too.

*insert VGCats reference*

The muscle cars made the game fun for me. Like I said, I finished the game, I wouldn't have if it wasn't pretty good, but I needed more realism. Plus I ran out of things to do.

Would be cool if someone ported the cars from NFS: Carbon to GTR 2.

It could happen. People have already ported the cars from Race Driver, and a few other games to GTR 2.

Burnout is such an amazing game. It's a huge influence on me to buy a next-gen console.

Well here we go.
