Need help on CGI Film

Not sure if this should be here or in another section, but oh well.


I'm (probably) going to make a Half Life movie based on the after-effects of HL1 (and it'll be free, so no problems with permissions and etc)

So now I need some ideas.

Help me by Righting your best 1 paragraph "food for thought" story of your views if you were:
A) a Marine
B) a Scientist
C) a civilian in the local area (I don't know, may be Vegas or Phoenix)

Mind you, this will include what happened in Blue Shift and Oposing Force, so the opening scene will probably be a nuclear cloud rising high above the New Mexican desert.

Wright away. And keep it short. I'm a lazy reader.

I reckon it should be from the view of a State Trooper. Your driving along the highway, and you see a a bright light, and a mushroom cloud billowing from over the other side of a hill.

A scientist would be good.
Doing a civilian would give too much information about the location of Black Mesa I think.

BUT OF COURSE! Fan Fiction sections have an infinite amount of stories to take for part of a film. Silly me. Jeez the weez, I've got to start remembering sections of this site.

I have all of the Half Life 2 3d models fully rigged if you want. I can send you any. But then, you would have to make a hl2 cgi movie...

I think I do a fairly good job at modeling and texturing. XSI foundations will be at my house in a week. So I shall begin soon. I'll release a trailer in a month or so probably.

It will begin with a news lady on tv saying something like "And it's day 2 of the Black Mesa quarantine by the government. More soldiers arrived today and we still do not know the reason of the quarantine. We can confirm that the local civilian locations have been evacuated and that as far as we can tell, it is not terrorist related."

Then it goes to "Today on day (Day of nuke at black mesa, don't know what day yet) we have late confirmation of the quarantine's expansion. There was a flash of light in the sky early this morning and we do not know why, but the military is getting more and more involved in the area. The flash is unknown and it could have been anything. The president is expected to say something later this evening, but for now, we have nothing from the army"

Then the screen fades into the General and he's looking at the nuclear cloud. he goes to a holding cell, and begins to scream at Breen



Also, just for some info, what should the invaders of the seven hour war be? When should it be also? I'm thinking Xen grunts altered by the combine. I've heard the war was a decade after Black mesa, and then hl2 a decade after the war.

Ok, how should and when should the seven hour war occur?

I've got two ideas for the pre-overwatch Combine invasion force.

Either Direct Xen creatures, like a combine-Xen alien invasion:

And of coarse, you could have a mixture of the two. What say the community?

As long as you don't fail, I fully endorse this product and/or event. Don't introduce too many new creatures, seriously, it'd be ridiculous.

And are you thinking of a film, or series (aka Red vs Blue?)

Never seen red vs blue (but I will now that you bring it up). It will be one movie though. 20-40 minutes or so maybe. Depicting right after Black Mesa until the end of the seven hour war. I have a truly |censored| ending that will be freaking awesome.


But seriously, what did the combine use pre-human as troops. I've always considers Race-X what the combine did to Xen, but I can't say for sure. I think this because after the Nihilanth died, most vorts surrendered. So the ones still fighting weren't under it's control. if not, I'll probably use the unused synths in "raising the Bar" either way.

Oh boy, XSI gets to my house in 4 more days or so.

Sorry, this project went down long ago. Portal got a bit too arrogant and took most of the credit so his team mate coup de grace'd the project, it's long dead.
