Need help - Stuck within game

Hi,

I really need some help here, so really happy if anyone has any ideas.

I am currently in Highway 17 level. I have destroyed the gunship and spoken to the English commander, who said the gates will open. So i get in my jeep and wait, the gates start to open so i drive towards them only to find that they slam shut so i can't get past. So i reload to the last save point and try again, the same thing happens. And again! I now guess that i have not been far enough back to them to open correctly.

Thinking that i should go on foot, i got all the way to the bridge by the petrol docks realising i need the jeep.

So i go to load back to my save point by the gate and there is no save point, in fact the last save point before the current one in the petrol docks is before Ravenholm around Waterhazard.

I really don't want to have to go back that far and if anyone has an idea of how to find an old save point which isn'ts shown within the game, or a way of building a ramp to get onto the road, or using the gravety gun to blast me onto the road would be very welcome.

Autosave saves over itself usually. Safer to make your own save points.

Try googleing a walkthrough. There are heaps out there, and it will save you (and us) heaps of time if you are unsure of what to do.

Well if anyone knows if i can load a any of my old save points that are stored somewhere in the HL2 directory i would be very grateful.

Well, you can also start a new game and select the latest chapter you were playing and start from there.
