Need Help!

i have a new Dell Inspiron 9300 + Half-life2 Game of the year edition. But im having a problem, everytime the installation is finished it says "Steam.exe(Main Exception): Unable to load library steam.dll".
I've been reading some forums and they said "Removed all steam installation, cs etc. then disabled your firewall & virus...then install again" - but still same error appeared. I even tried to download steam and installed it then do fresh installation of Half life2 - but no luck!
Anybody can give me solution to this problem? I will surely appreciate it man!

Try removing the clientregistry.blob (Main Steam folder) and the platform.gcf file (Steamapps folder in the main Steam folder) while Steam is not running. First make a backup of the files though :O

Do a complete uninstallment like; Uninstalling Steam through add remove program, and then going to steam location in your HDD like c:\Program Files\Steam and manually deleting Steam folder. Delete Prefetch also by pressing star, run, type "prefetch" in the run dialog and delete all of the content of the Prefetch folder (DON'T DELETE THE FOLDER ONLY WHAT'S INSIDE OF IT)......Then Reboot system. Install fresh copy of steam.
