Need some help

Okay, Ive been playing slow as hell...Im in the Antlion nests, with a guard blocking me into this crevice with 2 openings...one leads out to a small puddle of water, where the Guard waits...If I sprint the other way, I can see a boarded up mine entrance just before I get my ass kicked by the Antlion Guard chasing me down...

How the hell do I get past this spot? Ive seriously been stuck here all day!!!

Yeah Im out of grenades, I was thinking of running there shotty ablaze, but wasnt sure if Id get through in time...

Okay, some more help please...god I sound like a noob...Im out by the thumpers, and Ive already died 4 times trying to figure out how to get into that elevator...whats the plan there?

If you walk up and face the gears that operate the elevator, you will notice the middle one is missing. This is why when you press E to move the lever, it only clicks and moves back to the "off" position. Turn 180 degrees and go towards the water you see... see the gear? Use your gravity gun to lift it and attach it to the middle part and now activate the lever.
Took me about 2 minutes to figure that out.

Kill the guards.

Yep, no way around it. Use the final thumper for shelter and gravgun the hell out of the guards with whatever you can find. If you can get a car engine, it does good damage and doesn't explode in your face. Feel free to unload with the smg alt fire too, since you can load up in the next section.

Yeah I figured it out shortly after posting Damn this car is sexeh, for a post apocolyptic world...I'd rock it!

The smg is effective as well, the doorway should be pretty much cleared when you get their

Yeah, I used as many exploding barrels as I could, then unloaded into their guts with the shotgun while standing on the generator...

I didnt have any trouble at that point, he didnt chase me until I was already in there
